CRISPY SESAME SALMON
I love love love a sesame bagel, in fact the more sesame the better! I made this recipe based on my interpretation of a salmon bagel with a Thai twist. I especially like it when its done on a cedar plank on the BBQ, it acquires even more flavour! Try it out its that perfect entertaining recipe!
ingredients
- 200g salmon filets (4 of them) deboned and skin off
- 4 cedar planks (soak in water for 2
- 3 hours before using)
- 1/4 cup Tamari or Soya Sauce
- 2 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 3 tbs Dijon mustard
- 3/4 cup mixed black and white sesame seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
preparation
When you bring home the salmon open up the package and run your finger along the filets to make sure that it has been properly cleaned, in other words that there are no bones left in it and there are no fish scales or skin.
Place the salmon on the cedar planks. You can serve the entire dinner on this plank, in that case put one salmon filet per plank. Or you can place 2-3 filets per plank.
In a bowl combine the Tamari or soya sauce, ginger, and mustard. Sprinkle the filets with salt and pepper.
Generously brush the mixture onto the salmon filets covering all sides of it. Cover the entire filet with sesame seeds.
Place the the planks on a heated BBQ on medium high for 15 minutes or until the sesame seeds are toasted and the fish flakes at the touch of a fork.
