SAVORY TART CRUST
In culinary school a portion of my course was dedicated to pastry class, this recipe was one of the first things I learned. Its funny because I feel this is a staple recipe for any of you! Use it for your quiche recipes or apple pies its very versatile.
- 1 1/4 cup of flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1/3 cup cold grated butter
- 1/2 cup sour cream
In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Add butter and, using your hands, mix the butter to the flour until the consistency reaches that of coarse crumbs. Add sour cream and mix with your hands until you have a homogeneous mix. Wrap the dough in a plastic film and refrigerate for 30 minutes before using.
When your ready to use it roll out over a dusted counter top.
